Perth Fashion Festival Launch

Perth is getting fashionable for Perth fashion week and there is no better way of getting things started than throwing a killer launch party and Parade by Pierucci. And I love nothing more than an excuse to frock up and drink champagne.  Suffering the walk from my car which was parked miles away in my 5 inch silver heels didn't stop me enjoying a glamorous night at Perth Town Hall turned fashion bar known this week as Kurv.

Pierucci delivered their trademark smart and sharp suiting. Gorgeous local models strutted their stuff in long gowns, sequined minis and bright colours made a special feature in the collection. Pierucci's attention to detail was deliciously shown in ruffle dresses and gorgeous collar dresses.

A surprise retro look was included in the male collection with a mix of checked prints and velvet suits. I'm not a big fan of the tight pants look on men which I saw a lot in the show, but to be honest I would not have minded seeing Ben Cousins  Pierruci's latest model in them. But unfortunately he was a no show.

Sexy sports stars Mathew Pavlich, Brent Staker and Adam Gilchrist we're all suited up for the occasion. Gemma Bidstrup was looking fabulous in a black mini. I myself was looking not so model fabulous but there is no way you could have convinced me otherwise after my second champagne and a little dance next to the bongo drums... Congratulations Perth day one of Perth fashion week was a fabulous success!

Style Palace

Perth fashion festival got sexy and glamorous for the Style Palace fashion show by bringing together a fusion of Victoria secret, burlesque and musical theatre to entertain Perth with a spectacular show.  Various Australian labels such as Aurellio Costarella, Wayne Coper, HUSSY and Camilla have united at the new e-boutique "style palace".

The show opened with heart stopping style palace ambassador Lara Cameron sitting on a thrown in sexy lingerie clinging on to a lap top computer. The gorgeous blonde model got her start in the fashion world in Australia's next top model.

The cat walk was set amongst a gorgeous burlesque setting and fashion struts by stunning and cheeky Chadwick models we're broken up by burlesque performances.  I can guarantee every woman watching that fashion show was feeling sexier for having been there and all the males we're definitely paying attention!

After the show I was more than ready to have a few glasses of wine and a flirt with the hunky waiters in dark eye liner and angel wings. I had a bit of a laugh as I heard the murmurs of Perth locals turned fashion critics having their say. One group that was particularly funny we're, as I called them the housewives on the loose. They had an opinion on everything, the way the models walked, the wine, the ceiling the lights I could go on forever but to look at them you would have thought they had just stepped out of a Kath and Kim episode, and had obviously been watching way too many reality supermodel TV shows.  In contrast there we're a variety of celebrity guests such as Miss Universe Australia  Laura Dundovic, Basil Zempilas and Andrew Vlahov all looking fabulous.

Celebrity Telethon Parade

I generally try to be positive about things but when something is bad, it's just bad and you can't deny the facts. And I must say that the Telethon "Celebrity" Fashion Parade was bad. The stars on the catwalk we're terribly boring. They boringly walked up the catwalk whilst Basil Zempilas and Tina Altieri the MC's for the event tried hard to be witty enough to provide some sort of entertainment.  Well done to them, they did well.

The only person that was captivating was Shannon Maguire, David Wirrpanda's partner who looked sensational and didn't walk up the cat walk clinging for dear life to her partner like Candice Falzone did to her Eagles footballer boyfriend Brent Staker.

Other guest models were Adrian Barich of Channel 7, socialite Bree Maddox, Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic, Zoe Naylor of Gladiators fame and billionairess Radhika Oswal.

Two things saved the night, firstly a parody on Amy Whinehouse.  Amy Housewine a local Perth comedian drunkenly paraded herself about the stage whilst singing Amy's hit 'Back to Black'. And secondly but most importantly the Telethon Kids. 9 year old Taylor Tassef, this year's Telethon Child was beautifully well spoken and reminded people like myself who we're hating every second of the show why it is that we we're all there, for the kids.

Telethon ended up raising $60,000 for the sick children when the majority of the items the stars wore we're auctioned off.

Have to agree with you on the Telethon parade, they where hardly celebrities and am I the only one who thinks $60k is a really small amount. I wonder if this was in Sydney or Melbourne what a difference it would make. My verdict is... must do better.
