Jessica Mauboy and Missy Higgins have landed a role in the film version of the 1990 stage musical "Bran Nue Day". Shooting began in Broome on the weekend. She plays a "hilarious hippy". Also in the movie are Geoffrey Rush and Ernie Dingo.
