The Logies 2009: Winners and Losers Posted by Entertainment Team 4 May, 2009 - 7:14 AM
Sonja Kruger, Rebecca Gibney and Kristy Hinze, Getty ImagesTV's biggest and brightest stars gathered for the 51st TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday 3rd May.
Before the ceremony even began a few shows were dominating the night; with Packed To The Rafters and it's stars nominated for 10 awards, and the first Underbelly series nominated for 9.

:: Logies Fashion Shockers
Turquoise and frills were the big trends on the Logies red carpet; with Jessica McNamee and SYTYCD judge Bonnie Lythgoe going for figure-hugging turquoise numbers, Ruby Rose and Neighbours actress Pippa Black embraced the ruffle - while Sonja Kruger pushed the boat out and combined both looks! Ladies in red included Rebecca Gibney and Kristian Alfonso, Tracy Grimshaw wrapped herself in a purple kimono and Kristy Hinze and Margot Robbie were some of the few ladies to flash a bit of leg! It was black suits for the boys; apart from The Biggest Loser trainer Shannan Ponton who chose light grey pinstripe and actor Simon Westaway who chose a shiney pink jacket!

I was very disappointed that Simmone Jade MacKinnon didn't receive the Gold Logie.
Why is it that the year John Wood left Blue Heelers he won? Or that the year Kate Ritchie left Home and Away she won? And yet this was Simmone's last chance to be rewarded for her amazing talent and five years playing Stevie Hall on McLeod's Daughters. She deserved that Gold Logie! Packed to the Rafters is new and has many seasons ahead of it, so surely Rebecca Gibney could have waited a year.
Plus it's about time the Silver Logie for presenter was given to someone other then Rove. Seven years is enough, especially since he has gotten to the point where it's so old hat he jokes about the chairs instead of making a grateful speech.

Why Gretel, she was appalling, she was not funny, even the other presenter their, lines and jokes where not funny - what has happened to all the good writers ?? I ask. The best on the night was Sarah Murdoch, her dress her prsenetation was A1, get her to prsent it next year she's a natrual, has style and grace

I didn't like the way Rove raced up the stairs to get the award for most popular light entertainment program . He didn't wait for anyone didn't hug or congratulate is cast . Arragont behaviour he show is not just him.

i would have rather seen ian smith win gold, i agree that rebbecca could have waited another year, this was pretty much ian's last time in the spotlight he's not going to be on tv anymore and i would have loved him to at least walk away with something for over 20 years on neighbours. poor guy has never won a logie and he deserves it! :(

natalie bassingthwaighte did a great performance i wish she had beaten rove in the most popular presenter award because rove has won it to often. i really think nat deserved it. -

I was very disappointed with the logies.. no great entertainment through the night.. no best dressed awarded... yes it had top ratings.. because Australia was like me and kept saying.. Damn this has to improve.. which sadly it did not.. I have watched the logies for as long as i can remember and i would surely rate it as the worse one yet.. come on channel nine..i could throw a back yard BBQ better then that..

I agree with Katrina about Rove. I enjoy watching his show occasionally but I was really disappointed with his ungratefulness last night. I really wanted Adam Hills should have won- he is very talented and has missed out on it many times.

I also think Gretel was shocking. There is no way they will bring her back next year. Kyle and Jackie O to host!! They did a better job than her on BB so its the logical move!
