What's On In Melbourne 12th-13th November

Your guide to this weekend.

Night Noodle Markets 2016 started on Thursday and we’ve been drooling ever since.

The Asian hawker-style market just wrapped up in Sydney, and if Instagram is anything to go by we know which stalls you’ll be frothing over…

Peking Duck Fries from Bao Stop is top of the list. A perfect combination of East meets West.

Gelato Messina is back, pushing the world of ice-cream to new limits. Fryer and Ice is one of their four desserts created specifically for The Night Noodle Markets. Deep fried caramel and salted coconut gelato, mango pudding, drizzled with passionfruit caramel...

Get your taco fix with a twist at Mr Miyagi. The Melbourne cult favourite is serving nori tacos with fillings ranging from soft-shell crab to butter chicken. PS do not order this if you’re on a first date and are trying to keep your dignity. It will be messy.

Entry to The Night Noodle Markets is FREE. And get this… it’s a cash free event so enjoy tapping your card with no “$10 minimums” anywhere!

Dates: Thursday 10 – Sunday 27 November 2016

Times: Monday & Tuesday 5 – 9pm, Wednesday & Thursday 5 – 10pm, Friday 5 – 11pm, Saturday 4 – 10pm and Sunday 4 – 9pm

Ever dreamt of being a mermaid? Fulfil your dream this weekend when Project Mermaids' World Tour stops in Melbourne. Your Instagram will be the envy of all your followers, whilst you're helping a worthy cause!

The Californian based charity is creating awareness of how precious our oceans and beaches are. Imagine if future generations weren’t able to enjoy our waters like Bells Beach, Gippsland’s Ninety Mile Beach or St Kilda because we were too selfish and ignorant?

Celebrity fashion photographer, Angelina Venturella, and acclaimed underwater photographer, Chiara Salomoni, have teamed up to take incredible mermaid photos of you, with the proceeds being donated to

There are a few spots left to get involved (we won't judge if it's only because you want a gorgeous mermaid photo of yourself).

Melbourne Music Week has a ring to it, but the first point to make is this is a nine day event, from November 11 – 19. The program is huge! 110 events featuring 240 local and international acts across 40 locations in Melbourne.

The MMW Hub is the iconic State Library. Yep. You read that right. A 160 year old heritage listed building, home to 4.9 million books, is breaking its silence. But that's not the only obscure venue. Acts will perform on the steps of Parliament, in Emporium and in the players change-rooms at the MCG.

We'd need to write a novel to give props to all the artists performing at MMW, so here is a cross-section.

Ella Hooper, lead singer of Killing Heidi, helps launch MMW with "Her Sound, Her Story: A Celebration of Women in Music" alongside other influential female artists. Allday, is a modern rapper with smooth melodies. He often co-hosts The Hit AU with Byron Cooke Sunday nights on the Fox, and is performing at Queen's Hall Friday November 18. Swedish singer, Elliphant, is in high demand in the electronic-dance world. She's collaborated with Major Lazer, Skrillez, MØ and on Peking Duk's newest single Stranger which we've been spinning A-LOT. She's performing at Queen's Hall Tuesday November 15.

Check out the full program and see what tickles your fancy.
