Adelaide Escaped Prisoner Still On The Run
A convicted murderer has been on the run for nearly a week after going missing during an external work program.
Tara Kehoe, 37, disappeared while taking part in a pre-release program at Adelaide Women's Prison in Northfield last Friday.
“The Department for Correctional Services and SA Police take incidents of this nature very seriously and are doing everything possible to locate the prisoner and return her to custody,” Acting Correctional Services Minister Kyam Maher told The Advertiser.
“Following her return, Ms Kehoe will face police charges and her behaviour will be considered by the parole board.”
Kehoe was sentenced to a non-parole period of 18 years in jail for her role in the December 1996 murder of 18-year-old Tracy Muzyk. On appeal her sentence was reduced to 15 ½ years.
Kehoe is 170cm tall, 65kg with long straight brown hair and was wearing a black long sleeved T-shirt when she went missing.
Anyone who spots Kehoe or who may have any information is asked to call the police on 131 444.
