Bulldogs Win Paints Town Red, White, Blue
A sporting fairytale that will go down in history as one of the best!
It's the stuff dreams are made of - the Western Bulldogs captured the state and even the country, after being crowned 2016 AFL premiers.
It was the Bulldogs first flag since 1954 and more than 99,000 fans flocked to the MCG to watch them take down the Swans by 22 points.
A few famous fan faces in amongst the crowd too, the Hemsworth brothers - Liam and Chris - posted on social media about the win:
The story post-game was Coach Luke Beveridge giving up his premiership medallion for injured Bulldogs skipper and Fox FM footy guru Bob Murphy.
On Sunday, Whitten Oval was a sea of red, white and blue as more than 20,000 fans turned out to catch a glimpse of their sporting heroes and it was all too much for some, with two people collapsing in the excitement and needing treatment from ambos.
Continuing their premiership tour on Monday, the Western Bulldogs take their new silverware to Ballarat.
More to come.
