Eye roll!! Melbourne customers slugged with fee hike

Melbourne, get set to fork out more cash for a cab around Tullamarine airport!

Cabbies have been given the green light to pass on a fare hike from next month, which is likely to see Uber become even more popular in our state.

The Essential Services Commission - who looks after the airport’s ranks and other facilities - has allowed a fee increase of 88cents.

So, taxi drivers will be hit with a $3.58 charge from November 1 - they can then choose to absorb the cost or pass it on to customers but are expected to slug travellers instead.
