Police At Seige In Bayswater North

Heavily armed police are negotiating with a man holed up inside a house in Melbourne's Bayswarter North.

Police were called to a home at Burdekin Avenue in Bayswater North at 7.20am on Tuesday.

Nearby roads are cordoned off as police and members from the Critical Incident Response Team, surround the house.

Local residents have taken to social media asking police what's going on.

Victoria Police Senior Constable Alistair Parsons told the Herald Sun officers were first called to Burdekin Ave about 7.20am.

“It is believed the man is alone in the property,” Sen-Constable Parsons said earlier.

Colchester Rd was been blocked off as a precaution between Canterbury Rd and Allambanan Drive.
