More Monash Mayhem

The Daily Go Slow Is Getting Slower

The Monash Freeway seems to play a role in almost everyone's day in Melbourne - either you're one of the 200,000 cars travelling on it, or it's closed and causing a flow on traffic jam somewhere else.

So work's getting underway from today to expand it once again, at a cost of $400 million.

The Government says drivers can expect reduced speed limits and lane closures while crews add 30kms of new lanes between EastLink and Clyde Road.

Most of the work is scheduled to be done at night though to be of least inconvenience to users, and the project is due for completion by 2018... just in time for the next Victorian election.
