Libra believes all women deserve to live a long and happy life. That’s why Libra has committed support for research into the early detection of ovarian cancer by being a partner of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation since 2006.
Ovarian cancer is the fourth most common cancer affecting women and in Australia one woman dies of the disease every 10 hours. Although it is less common than breast cancer, proportionally more women die from ovarian cancer because it is usually diagnosed in its advanced stages.
The funds raised by OCRF initiatives will help fund research into development of an early detection test. Early detection is so important to eradicating this disease so Libra has committed funds each year to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for the development and research for such a program.
Libra’s commitment also extends to raising awareness of this disease through campaigns that involve print and online media. Many of these activities have components to raise funds for the foundation. Additionally, all of Libra’s core product packaging bears the silver ribbon, aimed at heightening consumer awareness of the OCRF.
Since the partnership began in 2006, Libra has donated and helped to raise over $700,000 to fund further research.
