Caraplanning - Caravan of Courage 2 Posted by Hamish & Andy 20 October, 2008 - 11:47 AM
When Thomas Williams, a listener, emailed in asking if we were planning to do another Caravan of Courage this year Andy responded to let him know that the thought hadn't really crossed our mind. Boy, did we open a Pandora's box. Here's Tom's reply:
Really!! That strikes me as odd as I aware you were running with a one hug policy. The very spirit of caravaning is multiple trips. Think about it. Old people, stereotypically the thriftier ones in society and caravan enthusiasts, would not invest their money in the travelling wonder homes (caravans) for just one trip.
Thomas
Weeks later and after much convincing of our grumpy boss Dave, Caravan of Courage 2, 'Who Dares Dar-Wins', is on the road to Darwin!
Do you have any suggestions, comments or messages of goodwill for the boys send them now!

Guys
I envy the both of you .Do not forget to take a spare set of wheel bearings some puncture repair spray ( it comes in a aerosol which you connect to the tyre valve ) and spare fuses and bulbs a torch matches and tools to suit.
you can not go wrong with a heap of tinned food Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney Pies are fantastic
Tubes of vegimite and condensed milk to put in your packs incase you get lost or injured that stuff will keep you alive untill help gets to youA must ,solar panels on the roof for your batterys theres heaps of sun for free ,Dont forget water
and last but not least a epirb thats just incase you really get in a fix just activate the epirb (emergency position radio beacon ) and help will be with you very quickly
Who Cares Who Wins as long as you have fun doing it
Regards

I think you should stop off at FINKE NT. I have a friend who is teaching there for 12 months. the town has about 240 residents, the school goes from K-12 and has 3 teachers. My friend was married on the long weekend and is currently honeymooning in Japan. I think it would be hilarious if she got back to school next week and found that I had effectively "put her hand up" for her to have you guys drop in.
