Caravan of Courage Two?!?
Hamish & Andy 7 October, 2008 - 10:00 AM
When Thomas Williams, a listener, emailed in asking if we were planning to do another Caravan of Courage this year Andy responded to let him know that the thought hadn't really crossed our mind. Boy, did we open a Pandora's box. Here's Tom's reply:
Really!! That strikes me as odd as I aware you were running with a one hug policy. The very spirit of caravaning is multiple trips. Think about it. Old people, stereotypically the thriftier ones in society and caravan enthusiasts, would not invest their money in the travelling wonder homes (caravans) for just one trip.
Thomas
Do you agree with Thomas? Did we satisfactorily hug Australia last time? Should we go again? Where should we go?
Caravan of Courage - Part 1
As Hamish & Andy try to get the van back together we wanted to remind you of just how good it was first time...

Hey guys I'm 12 and live in the outback of Bourke (middle of nowhere) and I think that Bourke is the ideal place to come for the caravan of courage.

YES!!!
The show is funny in Sydney, but even funnier when you are hugging Australia.
Sometimes my Mum doesnt need to know what I am doing, the same works for Grumpy Dave, just don't tell him.

No, don't hug Australia again! Travel to another country and report on the weirdness of foreign countries and their cultures and the freaks you meet while travelling.
(No, New Zealand doesn't count.)

I was recently on a road trip with my 3 kids and enjoyed the farmers political commentry in their paddocks eg "plug the Pipe" - "Cats choke on Hawks" and lots on Brumby. Can I come on a road trip with you guys and take photos of all these and maybe interview the individuals??? Too political??? I reckon you could sell it by helping mother of 3 excape her 3 kids and in need of some Hamish and Andy style fun! PLEASE ...

Hi guys,
Look, I dont think you're thinking large enough. I mean c'mon, how many times are you going to do the same thing? Isnt it time to hug the world?
I lived in London for three years and I either work up to hammish and andy (listened live) or downloaded the podcast and I was gutted the jacko didnt make it to Mayfair street.
I think at the very least you need to 'acquire' a motorhome and do route 66. Forget hugging Australia, we need you as Australian ambassadors so you can hug the world!

When you had the annoucement during the day of a family meeting at 5 I was thinking what are we up to now. I was so excited to hear the idea of caravan of courage 2. There is so many more places to hug boys. Grumpy Dave should get in the spirit of it, after all you are the people's show!! I'll be listening this arvo (on a 3 hour delay in Perth) to hear what he had to say in your "meeting" last night. Thank boys.
